80th Birthday - An Honorific Speech

by Ingrid Protze

Thanks for your long-lasting, never tiring activities in the field of authors’ rights in Europe “in times like these”

The best president the EWC has ever seen
Brilliant philosopher, poet, author Maureen
Very charming, blond now white and w(a)ise
She’s so cute, it’s my task - her - to praise
The master integrated all her colleagueen(s)
And she in the midst and all in between
Even me, Eastern horn, the green
Forever
Together

From Berlin, I throw a birthday dart
Across so many thousand yard(s)
To an authoress very famous and smart
Her aims and “children” she never abandons
Extraordinary and beautiful Rose of London
Always insists and fights
Open-minded, without any lies
For us and the authors rights
For unity
In diversity

You’re so great and gorgeous
When necessary, tough and cour(a)geous
Still looking like a beloved gi(r)l
With woman power and strong will
Maureen, you are my heroine
Our dream of a real Europe(wom)an
You, priestess, reach so high
Our Duffyne into the authors’ sky
Where we are all writing
Our experiences, hopes, dreams describing
In our Eurolanguage transl(a)iting
Congratulations
And jubilations
