Interview with Paul Gunton, international tea consultant and author, at Twinings Tea Shop, 216 Strand, 17 December 2010.

Twinings Tea and Coffee Shop, 216 Strand, is on the site of one of the oldest coffee houses in London. Dating back to the early 18th century, it was originally called the ‘Golden Lyon’ – hence the statue of a recumbent lion above the door, flanked on either side by two figures of Chinese men to remind passers by of the shop’s connection with the tea trade. In this interview, Paul Gunton, an international tea consultant, talks about Twinings role in the tea trade and his experiences over a lifetime of selecting tea around the world.
